LOCUS STUDIO
AN INDEPENDENT PRACTICE IN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AND CRAFT
Locus Studio is a small, highly focused design practice based in the American West. Led by founder Anson Fogel, the studio specializes in homes that are deeply responsive to site, light, and climate. Every project is a close collaboration between client, designer, and builder—an iterative process that continues from first sketch through final details. With a rare combination of conceptual clarity and deep technical fluency, Locus ensures each design is not only beautiful, but buildable—with integrity, precision, and respect for the land it occupies.

ANSON FOGEL
PRINCIPAL
Anson Fogel is the founder of Locus Studio, an independent architectural design practice working across the American West. His approach is shaped by a lifelong immersion in building, engineering, and visual storytelling. Raised on job sites with his builder father, and trained in engineering and mathematics at the University of Colorado, Anson began his career designing complex lighting, audio, and control systems for high-end homes. He then spent over a decade as a commercial cinematographer and director—an experience that sharpened his instinct for how space, light, and atmosphere shape human experience.
Anson brings an unusually hands-on and holistic sensibility to design. Equally attuned to structure and story, his obsessive attention to both form and function sets him apart from more conventional design practices. His process begins with a patient, forensic reading of place—especially when the site is challenging, whether remote, rugged, or urban. From there, he brings a creative rigor to each project, working closely with clients, consultants, and builders to ensure that every detail is intentional and every decision rooted in how people will truly live.
